Dog
The domestic dog demonstrates extraordinary phenotypic plasticity. From the two-kilogram Chihuahua to the ninety-kilogram English Mastiff, the species spans a size range unmatched by any other terrestrial mammal. Dogs thrive in Arctic tundra, tropical rainforests, urban apartments, and rural farmland. They have been bred for hundreds of specialised functions. Behaviourally, dogs adapt to human emotional states, household routines, and social hierarchies with remarkable facility. A dog transported to any environment on Earth would attempt accommodation within hours.
Shrek
Shrek's adaptability manifests primarily through narrative flexibility. The character has successfully transitioned from book illustration to computer animation to Broadway performance. His personality proved malleable enough to sustain four feature films without fundamental character degradation. The character adapts to various comedic contexts whilst maintaining core identity. However, as a fictional construct, Shrek cannot physically adapt to anything, being fundamentally composed of digital information stored on servers, incapable of responding to environmental pressures beyond those scripted by writers.
