Thanos
Born on Titan in the distant past, Thanos existed for millennia, his Eternal-Deviant hybrid physiology granting extraordinary lifespan. He accumulated wisdom, resources, and trauma across ages, witnessing the rise and fall of countless civilisations. His longevity enabled the patient accumulation of power necessary for his ultimate objectives. Death claimed him only through the most extreme measures—and even then, alternative timeline versions persist.
Volcano
Volcanic systems operate on timescales that render even Titan lifespans insignificant. Olympus Mons has persisted for billions of years. Earth's volcanic activity predates complex life by several billion years and will continue long after humanity's extinction. Stromboli has maintained near-continuous eruption for over two thousand years—a duration exceeding multiple human civilisations. Volcanoes do not die; they merely enter dormancy measured in geological epochs.
